Rick,

Thanks for your reply.

wwipstuff.cMailServer is set to "mail.btconnect.com" which is the mailserver at BT, the school's ISP. For many years this has worked fine, with staff using the VFP app to send out emails from any computer on the network.

Now the network support people have changed the default gateway on all computers, so that all browser traffic is forced to go through the proxy server and therefore the Sophos internet content filtering - obviously important for a school.

However, the .SendMail now does not now work, and this is not an area where I am a great expert!

Hard to say what the problem is but as I mentioned emal servers generally aren't proxied since they are private access. You need to ask your admin for the IP address or domain name and port of the server and that's all you should need.

Note that you may have to authenticate now as well depending on your configuration of the email server.

As an alternative, I have tried setting .cMailServer to "10.1.0.19" which is the school's network Exchange server, and I then get a "550 5.7.1 Unable to relay" error.

Relay errors mean you'll have to log in by providing authentication (username/password).
